ACP allegedly kills his wife and nephew,  Then Commits Suicide


In Pune, Maharashtra, a tragic incident occurred on Monday, where a 57-year-old assistant commissioner of police (ACP) reportedly shot and killed his wife and nephew before taking his own life with the same firearm. The distressing event unfolded at approximately 3.30 am at ACP Bharat Gaikwad's residence in the Baner area. The motive behind this devastating act remains unknown, as stated by an official from Chaturshringi police station.

According to the police, Gaikwad was serving as an ACP in Amaravati and had returned home before the incident occurred.

The sequence of events suggests that at around 3.30 am on Monday, the ACP allegedly shot his wife in the head. Upon hearing the gunshot, his son and nephew rushed to the scene and opened the door, only for the nephew to be shot in the chest by the ACP. Shortly afterward, Gaikwad turned the gun on himself, resulting in the immediate demise of all three individuals involved, including the police officer's wife Moni Gaikwad (44), and nephew Deepak (35).

The authorities have investigated this heartbreaking occurrence, aiming to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
