Bike-borne armed criminals shot dead a bakery shopkeeper in Bihiya Raja Bazar of Bihiya police station area of Bhojpur district on Saturday night. People got agitated over the incident and blocked the road on Sunday morning.


The deceased was identified as 34-year-old Kumar Manohar, son of Santosh Kumar, resident of Bihiya Raja Bazar ward number eight of Bihiya police station area. He was a bakery shopkeeper by profession.

The family used to run a bakery shop named Breakers King near the High School in Bihiya Raja Bazar. Bullet marks have been found in the center of the shopkeeper's chest.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, Bihiya police station chief Uday Bhanu Singh along with his team reached the spot and investigated the matter. The police is scanning all the CCTVs installed in the surrounding area.

Here, SP Pramod Kumar told that the incident took place around 11 o'clock in the late night. The miscreants carried out the incident on the pretext of buying a cake. Two criminals came from a bike. Called from home and shot.

He told that the team has been formed due to the incident and to arrest the criminals, the team is trying to arrest the criminals soon.

Here, people angry with the murder have blocked the road with the dead body in Bihiya on Sunday morning. Angry people are demanding his arrest.

When the bullet was fired, the cracker exploded - the wife of the deceased.

Here, Pooja Devi, the wife of the deceased told that her husband came out of the house after having food and said that he was coming after giving cake to the customer. After this, she was also going to keep the plate after having food. During this, he saw that a young man was standing in the street wearing a potted cloth.

Pooja says that seeing the young man, he felt that everyday someone or the other comes to buy ice cream. He must have also come to have ice cream. After this she went to keep her plate in the kitchen.

Meanwhile, suddenly there was a sound of firing and he thought that someone must have burst a cracker. To this her husband shouted that he had been shot. After being shot, he ran after them towards the road but, both the criminals fled on a bike.

Died while being taken to hospital

After this, the relatives reached the spot and brought him to Sadar Hospital, Ara for treatment, where the doctor declared him brought dead. After this, the family voluntarily took the dead body back to their home in Bihiya.

On the other hand, Pooja Devi, the wife of the deceased, has categorically denied that her husband had any kind of dispute and enmity with any person. However, the police is probing the matter at its own level.




Bihiya police station in-charge Uday Bhanu Singh said that the number of criminals is being told as two and both of them fled towards Jagdishpur by sitting on the same bike. Police is scanning the CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding area. Efforts are being made to identify the criminals and ensure their arrest.
